Carrie Cooper Lay Ginn, age 86 of Caryville, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Cumberland Village in Lafollette. She was born on October 31, 1931 to the late William H. and Mary Grisham Cooper in Campbell County. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Mt. Paron Baptist Church. She liked to sew and quilt. She also enjoyed working as a CNA at Cumberland Village until she was no longer able. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: husband, Onvad Lay; step-mother, Sarah Cooper; brothers, Rev. Edgar Cooper, Elvin Cooper; and sister, Ora Cooper Phillips.

She is survived by: children, Donna Oaks, Ronald Lay; Grandchildren, Tara Oaks, Anthony Oaks; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10-12pm with the funeral service to follow at 12pm with the Rev. Donald Allen officiating. Her burial will follow at Mt. Paron Baptist Church Cemetery. www.holleygamble.com
