Obituary

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Braniel Jazleen Listenbee, age 9, of Clinton, who passed away on May 22, 2026.

Braniel had just completed the 3rd grade at Clinton Elementary School, where she recently received the I-Ready Growth Certificate in Reading and was honored with the Fashionista Award. She especially loved math and social studies and was always eager to learn and shine in the classroom.

Braniel was full of life and loved to sing, dance, and cheer. She was a proud cheerleader for the Clinton Dragons Youth Cheerleading Team, where her bright smile, joyful spirit, and enthusiasm brought happiness to those around her.

More than anything, Braniel was a loving, funny, and beautiful child whose heart overflowed with love, laughter, and kindness. Her smile could light up any room, and the joy she carried touched everyone blessed to know her. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, classmates, teachers, and all who loved her.

Heaven gained a precious angel far too soon, and her beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her mother, Canice Listenbee; father, Jeff Drake; stepfather, Kevin Lowery; brother, Brien Listenbee; stepbrother, Dalton Lowery; stepsister, Kayla Lowery; honorary sister, Marisol Cathern; honorary brother, Julio Orendain; grandparents, Janice Listenbee, and Dean Pickett, step-grandfather, Jimmie Lowery: uncle, Brynn Listenbee; aunts, Janet Laugand, Olivia Pickett, and Isabelle Young-Pickett; honorary aunt, Marisol Nunez; a host of cousins and extended family members, and special friends, Harper Bowen, Elayna Sutherland, Elizabeth Case, and Jurnee Willis.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate the precious life of Braniel Jazleen Listenbee.

The family will hold a special visual remembrance in Braniel's honor at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Aspire Park in Clinton, where loved ones are invited to gather and share memories of the beautiful joy she brought to so many lives.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Michael Foust officiating.

Please continue to keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.
