Bobbie Sue Phillips of Clinton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 82.

She was born on August 15, 1942, the daughter of Herman and Clarice Butler. In 1960, she graduated from Clinton High School and furthered her education at Freed-Hardeman College and later the University of Tennessee, class of 1975. Bobbie started her Teaching career in the Rosedale Community where she met Early, the love of her life. They were committed to one another for nearly 50 years and built a wonderful life together full of love and precious memories. For many years, Bobbie dedicated her life to nurturing and guiding generations of children as owner of The Early Learning Tree until her retirement in 2003. She was a beloved member of Clinton Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Early Phillips; parents, Herman Reed Butler Sr. and Clarice Butler; brothers, Herman Butler Jr., Arnold Butler, Tim Butler.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen Cox and her fiancé Robert Darnell, and Connie Phillips; sister, Sara Johnson; grandchildren, Craig Cox and wife Leah, Susan Vaughn and husband Eric, Mollie Insell; great-grandchildren, Easton Cox, Levi Vaughn, and Oliver Vaughn; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

The Phillips family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 7 pm with Minister Richard Bentley officiating. Bobbie will be laid to rest at 11 am on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Woodhaven Memorial Garden.
