Bobbie J. Jordan, age 78, of Lake City, Tennessee (formerly Elmira, New York), passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Bobbie was born on September 16, 1936 in Briceville, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Ada Carroll Phillips. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, Rev. Donald K Jordan, Jr. Bobbie was a lifelong servant of the Lord and worked alongside her husband during his ministries at several churches including Elmira Baptist Church in Elmira, NY and Midway Baptist Church, Clinton, Tennessee. Bobbie was an expert gardener enjoying and sharing the bounties of her harvest with friends and relatives. She had a tender spot in her heart for those in need. Most especially, Bobbie was a caretaker for many friends and relatives. She cared for her mother and siblings until they too went to be with the Lord. Bobbie loved life and was always good natured. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Donald K Jordan, Jr; son, AJ (Alan) Jordan, Elmira, NY; granddaughters Carly Jordan, Elmira, NY and Chelsea Jordan, Syracuse, NY; nephew DeWayne and Linda Phillips, Lake City, Tennessee, who were extremely loving to her. Bobbie was predeceased by all 10 of her siblings. The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7:00PM with the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Bobbie's interment will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Foust Cemetery in Lake City, Tennessee. www.holleygamblefh.com
