Beth Haskell died in Ocala FL early Christmas morning, December 25, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert L. and Cora Long Sadler; sisters Alice Minchey, Jean Smith, and June Miller; brother Robert H. (Jack) Sadler; and a niece, Jan Allen Haggard. She is survived, loved, and will be dearly missed by her husband for 32 years, Edward L. Haskell. They were members of Oklawaha Bridge Baptist Church in Silver Springs, FL; the Revs. James Snell, Raymond Estes, and their congregation and staff have been a caring and helpful support group for Beth and Ed. The Clinton Church of Christ continues to be close to the Sadler family in help and support, for which we give thanks..

Surviving family members are sisters Margaret Allen of Clinton, Nancy Kahn (Paul) of Culver City, CA, and brother John Sadler (Susan Allen) of Clinton. Extended family members include Mrs. Bonnie Sadler (Jack) of Murfreesboro, TN, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Ed for his tender loving care of Beth in her final years. In addition we thank our niece, Karen Smith Moore of Florida, for her taking a special interest in Beth's welfare during this last year and for acting as our liaison when needed.

Beth (Betty) Sadler Haskell was born in Jackson County TN on April 11, 1930, but the Sadler family settled in Clinton, where they were instrumental in beginning the Clinton Church of Christ. They helped grow the church spiritually, populated it with several children, and literally helped with the physical building for the early church and the parsonage. After graduating from Clinton High School Beth began her working career with the Anderson County Board of Education in Clinton.

By 1965, Beth continued her career, moving to Cocoa Beach, FL and working with IBM. She transferred to IBM Federal Systems Division in Thousand Oaks CA (1972) working win Quality Assurance and Configuration Management. That division was later transferred to Boulder CO. While in California Beth earned her Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu.

Beth and Ed Haskell were married on Valentine's Day 1979. Upon retirement (1992) they returned to make their home in Florida. Betty wasn't all business--she was an artist and loved to paint, loved the mountains, loved to have fun. We will miss her shining smile.
