Bertha R. Fowler, a life-long resident of Anderson County, died at her home on December 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wesley Fowler, her parents, Alice Lola Mae and James Joseph Rucker, and a brother Walter Rucker. She is survived by her sister and brother in-law, Betty and Ron Hagans of Clinton, two brothers, Roscoe and Mack Rucker of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her nieces Michelle Hagans Ellis, Marianne Wesley Fowler, and Susan S. Fowler, and her great nieces Keelin Morris and Leica Murphy. Bertha, who was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her historic home. She was a member of Dutch Valley United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 22,at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be at 2 o'clock with Rev. Larry Webster officiating.
