Bernice Eileen Loy (Bice) age 94 of Oak Ridge, TN passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Courtyards Assisted Living in Knoxville, TN.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Cleaveland Loy.  Bernice was born on October 10, 1929, to the late Carl Russell Sr and Georgia Mae Bice in Copper Hill, TN.  She was the eldest of eight children.

Our mother was a selfless and kind person who cared about everyone and always put everyone ahead of herself.  She lived her life leaning on faith.  She used every opportunity to tell others the good news about Jesus Christ and to tell her testimony to others.  She was the mother of five children, and we were blessed to have her so long- she truly will be missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice is preceded in death by son, Clarence Loy, brothers, Carl Russell, Jr., Gene, Bobby, Paul, and Sam Bice, and sister Annette Galloway.

She is survived by sister Jannette Byrd, sister-in-law, Brenda Bice, her children, Jim Loy (Mary), Dan Loy, Brenda Therry (Jerry), and Toni Carruba (Anthony).  She is also survived by four grandchildren: Trevor Loy (Shawnna), Taylor Loy (Rebecca) Julie Muse and Brandon Loy.  She also has five special great grandchildren.  Special family friend, Greg Stewart and special friend, Ann Fowler.  We also want to thank the kind and caring staff at the Courtyards Assisted Living who made her two years there a very pleasant time.

The family will receive friends at Holly Gamble Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm with a graveside service to follow at Farmers Grove Cemetery.
