Bernard Joseph "Bernie" Liford, age 61 of Heiskell passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at his home. He was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on April 22, 1949, raised in Melbourne, Florida, then came back to Tennessee after marrying and raised his family.
Before retiring in 2003, Bernie owned and operated Liford Electric on Market Street in Clinton for over 20 years where he gained many life long special friends. He continued to do electrical work for friends and if someone needed him. He loved the trade. He enjoyed farming, gardening, traveling, reading and was a history buff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frank & Statia Suber Liford; brothers, Cecil, Ray & Kenneth Liford.

Wife of 41 years: Liz Matthews Liford of Heiskell, Tn

Daughter: Statia Liford Dake & husband, William (W. R.) Dake of Heiskell

Brothers: Bud Liford & wife Barbara of Melbourne, Florida
Larry Liford & wife Mary of Melbourne, Florida

Father-in-law: Daniel W. Matthews of Heiskell

Several nieces & nephews.

He will be missed very much by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 1-3PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 3:00PM in the chapel with Rev. Jerry Copeland officiating. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements
