Alvin Barry Cash, age 59 of Claxton, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Barry graduated from Roane County High School. He went on to attend Roane State Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He was among the first Emergency Medical Technicians in the state of Tennessee working in both Roane and Anderson counties ambulance services and was awarded the youngest ever honorary Tennessee Colonel. In 1974 Barry started work at ORNL and worked until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Sexton Cash; three of his cherished pets, Sophie, Lola and Cagney.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 15th from 6-8PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Rod Garrett officiating.
