Alice Joan Wade Helton passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on

Friday January 23, 2026. Alice was born in June of 1941 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. At a young age, she moved with her family to Niagara Falls, NY, where she attended Trott Vocational School and earned an LPN degree. She then worked at Niagara Memorial Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Department. It was while at Trott Vocational School that she met James Helton, who was working on the Niagara Power Project and whom she later married. In the mid 1960's, Alice and Jim took a leap and moved to the Peoria, IL area and opened several gas stations and auto parts stores. Upon retiring in the late 1970's, they retired to Tennessee, where they both lived out their lives.

Alice was preceded in death by her Husband of 62 years James Helton, parents Hershel Wade and Mary Myers Wade Sisler, stepfather Leonard Sisler, Sisters Lois Brydges (Irv) and Josephine Lengen (Jack), Charlotte Wade. Brothers Hershel Wade (Flora), Robert Wade (Donna), Walter Wade (Mary Louise). Her mother and father-in-law, Luther Helton and Jean Helton; brother-in-law Claude Helton (Anna); sister-in-law Judith Tuttle (Esco); and several nieces and nephews.

Alice is survived by her brother John Wade (Helga) of Niagara Falls, daughters Sharyl Helton King, and Karen Helton-Brooks (John), all ofOliver Springs, TN. Grandchildren, Crystal King Stair (Brad) of Whitefish Bay, WI. James "Wade" Helton of Oliver Springs and Patrick Helton of Oliver Springs. Great Grandchildren: Logan Stair and Lily Stair of Whitefish Bay, WI, Aliestair Helton and Thea Helton of Oliver Springs, TN. Several nieces and nephews. All of whom she cherished dearly.
